The most important test center of the world’s largest software tester SQS is in Görlitz. In 2007 the group decided to open a service delivery center in Görlitz. Today it’s an important and constant factor in the group as well as locally in the Görlitz IT industry.
SQS has bundled its testing know-how in Görlitz and is therefore a model for other SQS locations worldwide. With 200 employees today, software applications for many industries are tested here, including smart devices, robot-controlled process automation, car sharing and autonomous driving. In doing so, they support various industries become digitized, such as insurance, banking, logistics, retail, automotive and gaming. Well-known customers include the Port of Hamburg, whose logistics software was put through its paces in Görlitz.
In order to be prepared for the future, SQS set up the Mobile Testing Service in Görlitz. In the so-called “Mobi-Q”, SQS offers its customers the infrastructure to be able to test their respective applications de-centrally on all available mobile devices. The company is reacting to the reality of everyday life, where digital solutions have to work everywhere we are, no matter which device the consumer uses.
SQS has grown steadily since it was found in Görlitz ten years ago, and the teams are set up internationally. “We have a young, dynamic and committed team on site and very satisfied customers,” Christian Marx, head of the Görlitz site, said in praise of his team, which has very different qualifications: from lateral entrants to computer scientists to mechatronics technicians. The company benefits in particular from its proximity to the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences with its dual computer science degree. Employees appreciate the flexible working hours and the independent work.
And this growth will continue: in the next three years SQS plans to double their capacities again. The focus is on the merger with Assystem Technologies, which will enable the development of engineering and software testing.
